The traditional Tarot is a series of 78 pictoral images based on the kabbalah, a meditative path to the higher planes of consciousness. The tree of life, which forms the outline of the kabbalah, describes 10 spheres and 22 paths of consciousness. Tarot contains these 22 images in the form of major arcana (the journey of the Fool from Birth to Redemption), four suits numbered 1 to 10, and four court cards per suit. Each card and suit contains reference to situations and choices and are laid in relationship to one another to accurately describe a situation and potential solution(s).
