The I-Ching is an ancient text outlining 64 karmic lessons, each derived from a hexagram. Hexagrams are made up of six binomial lines, which can be reduced to four trigrams (made of three binomial lines). Each binomial line is either yin or yang and there are eight possible trigrams (known as the Ba Qua). The conbination of eight pairs of trigrams creates 64 natural laws or truths that are outlined in the I-Ching.
Each of the 64 hexagrams, the eight trigrams, and the yin/yang lines are interpreted to offer philosophical truths or guidelines for living the highest possible path to attainment. The I-Ching is the foundational text for Bazi astrology and is referenced in each reading.
